The researches have shown that,currently,there are a large number of studies on the seriating skills of ordinary children at home and abroad,but few empirical studies on the seriating skills training for children with intellectual disabilities.Seriating skill training is beneficial to the development of individual seriation ability.However,the mastery of seriating skills is a difficult task for children with intellectual disabilities.Therefore,children with intellectual disabilities urgently need to be trained to improve their overall cognitive ability,so as to improve their ability to adapt to society.When completing a seriation task,the cognitive process that individuals should go through includes:perceiving the objects,comparing the differences,forming the order concept,operating the objects to a order,examining the validity of the order.The main purpose of this study is to explore the training methods for children with moderate intellectual disabilities based on the study of the development of seriating skills for children with moderate intellectual disabilities,and to verify the effectiveness of such training methods.Therefore,In this study,This study adopts a withdraw design(A-B-A)in single subject design method.A series of seriating skills training activities for children with moderate intellectual disabilities were designed with the seriating skills needed to complete the seriation tasks.Two children with moderate intellectual disabilities were recruited to receive 20 trainings of seriation,rule seriation and event seriation for 10 weeks.The researcher use the self-compiled "Investigation of seriation ability for children with moderate intellectual disabilities" to collect the data during baseline stage,the training period and the follow-up period.The collection of data includes 20 times for one children.And the data was collected and analyzed in methods of visual analysis and C statics.Based on the analysis,the results of the study are as follows:(1)The two children's total scores of the seriation ability increased significantly.(2)The two children's total scores of the seriation ability,the rule sreiation ability and the event anility also increased significantly.(3)The improvement of seriation abilty of the two children is more significant in the first half of the training period.Based on the results of the study and the actual performance of the children during the training process,we can know that seriating skills training can effectively improve the seriation ability of children with moderate mental retardation.And this study argues that in the training of children with moderate intellectual disabilities,in order to let the children concentrate on the seriating tasks,we should improve the diversity of training materials and the fun of training activities.
