Nowadays, our society is just in the turbulent transformation period,on the one hand, the rapid development of economy improves people's living standards. On the other hand, the conflicts between old social mechanisms and new ones, the differentiation between social interest groups, and the diversity of fundamental values,we have to confront with the unprecedented crisis of trust. This has led to a wide attention in our domestic academe,as a result,a large number of research achievements have emerged in the ethics, economics, psychology and sociology fields. From the micro perspective, some scholars thought that the establishment of trust based on personal traits in the process of socialization. The other scholars from the macro perspective, they placing trust in the whole social background analyzing the influence factors of trust from the political, economic and cultural aspects. In short, trust is influenced by the macro factors, and also shows the characteristics of the micro factors. In the terms of current research results, the study of indigenous is based on summarizing the western theoretical research, however, the empirical research on the rural community is relatively less. So,under the guidance of empirical sociology, the author has chosen a typical rural community in western Shanxi Province—D community as a case,so that this article could intendto make a in-depth study on the current trust between rural community citizens of west Shanxi. As inspected the status of trust in D community, the author adopts the method of questionnaire and case interview to expound. At first,we introduced the background and significance of research and the foreign and domestic research outcomes of trust, then presented three basic hypotheses by summarizing these studies,at last analyzed the influential factors and trend of trust in the D community. The status of trust in D community presents three characteristics:(1)Social contacts and close relations between rural people determine the degree of interpersonal trust. We found that respondents show the highest degree of trust to family members and immediate family members, and to friends, neighbors, acquaintances, work for others together, others in the village, and the stranger's trust decline in turn.(2)Interpersonal trust show a downward trend.we reached a downward trend in rural community by comparing three special historical period. It is widely believed that trust condition today is not as good as before, interpersonal relationship is more rational in D village.(3)To maintain trust is mainly depends on the relationship operation. Both interpersonal trust among villagers and the trust between villagers and local government, relationship operation still plays an important role in the D village. The relationship between the individual within this community is becoming more and more rational and complicated.People no longer get the trust by mutual familiarity and the length of time,a trust model which based on the formal and legal social rules and regulations become inevitable. Therefore, the construction of institutional trust mainly includes the following points:(1)finding the rural bonding point between tradition and modern;(2)regulating the behavior of the government and improving the credibility of the government;(3)constructing honesty legal system and improving the rural credit system;(4)training villagers moral quality and strengthen the integrity education.Because of the geographical restrictions, the relationship between interpersonal trust and institutional trust and its status in D village may only have a local representative. The trust problems in different rural communities show different characteristics, which still need a lot of scholars to research. In addition, institutional trust whether improve the status of rural community or not is worth of further study in the future,so that we could put forward more feasible suggestions for the healthy development of the rural community.
