The Study Of Social Functions Of Dazhao Temple In Hohhot With Anthropology

This paper uses field investigation method, interview method, literature analysis method to do a study to analysis social function of Dazhao Temple and use the functional approach to explain these social functionsThis paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter systematically and comprehensively introduces Dazhao Temple's history and the current situation.Dazhao temple is the most famous temples in Hohhot area. It has been built for more than 400 years from Ming dynasty Shenzong seventh.The rulers of the two dynasties of Ming and Qing dynasties have attached great importance to it.The rulers not only came to here but also gave it a Peacock umbrella cover?Eight treasure glass lanterns and so on.At that time, because the boom Dazhao temple also makes the surrounding economic boom.But the end of Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,the decline in government support and war, resulting in the situation of Dazhao Temple worse than before.After the founding of new China,The government invested a lot of money to rebuild the Dazhao temple.Especially in 2006,The government to focus on the transformation of Dazhao Temple areas.New Dazhao has 58 Lamas,more than 20 hall of a Buddhist temples,total area is thirty thousand square meters,North and South 145 meters long,East and West 20 meters long,supervised by the two Buddhist institutions,the implementation of autotrophic system,the major festivals held Buddhist activities.In May 2006,Dazhao temple was approved by the State Council, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region key cultural relics protection units.It is not only a Buddhist holy land has become a famous tourist destination in China and abroad.The second chapter analyzes reasons that the Dazhao temple is the most influential temple in Hohhot,Dazhao temple three skills,tradition except Reincarnation system, multi national cultural characteristics,it became the biggest influence in Dazhao temple in Hohhot area.The third chapter analyzes the social function of Dazhao temple from the Anthropology. Functional school believes that human beings in addition to meet the basic survival needs, but also to meet the needs of human culture by the environment and culture. So the social function of religion is to meet the above needs of human beings.In this paper, the basic function and extension function of religion are analyzed.On one hand is the spiritual home to kind and helpless people, on the other hand is the positive functions of deter and educate. These constitutes the basic religious functions of Dazhao temple.Dazhao temple because of its important status in Hohhot City produce extension functions that are divinations, the ultimate concern and chase blessing of salvation,prayer,functions of training of monks,the spread of Tibetan Buddhism culture, charity,solving employment.So far, in the field of religion in our country, there have been a lot of researches on Tibetan Buddhism, but Dazhao Temple in Hohhot as a case study of anthropology, is not very perfect. From the functional approach,comprehensive and systematic analysis Dazhao Temple's social function is the first time. So as to be beneficial to the understanding the state that in the social and cultural background of people's psychological state and the survival of the state,It has far-reaching practical significance to formulate national policies and solve ethnic problems in this area.
