This paper put the outward-bound coaches' vocational ability in Beijing as the research object, integrated using the literature review method, expert interview, questionnaire survey, field survey method, mathematical analysis to investigate the elements which should be contained in the vocational ability index of outward-bound coaches in Beijing, and find some existing problems and deficiency, in order to provide a reference for relevant departments or companies in Beijing, and in the future,offer theoretical reference to improve the vocational ability of outward-bound coaches in Beijing. The research has these following conclusions:(1) The index of outward-bound coaches' vocational ability in Beijing has 16 sub ability targets: the ability of project explaining, safety protection and help, project sharing, psychological quality, equipment operation, observation and error correction, first aid, re-learning, organization and coordination, action demonstration of project, project planning and innovation,curriculum control,teamwork,personality infection, scientific research ability and physical endurance.(2) According to the statistics, whether the coach's own assessment or the evaluation of students(training client), the outward-bound coaches' vocational ability in Beijing including eight abilities(the ability of project explaining, safety protection and help,equipment operation,observation and error correction,action demonstration of project,physical endurance,organization and coordination,psychological quality) is in relatively good or beyond compare level, but the project sharing skill and re-learning ability, personality infection ability, first aid ability, project planning and innovation ability, and scientific research ability are in general or the level below.(3)The main factors affecting the development of expand coaches' professional competence in Beijing are: Expand training company, market environment, urban background, requirements of coaches and customers. According to the degree of influence is as follows : Expand training company for 15.127%, market environment for 12.421%, urban background for 12.163%, requirements of coaches for 11.262%, requirements of customers for 8.673%. The cumulative proportion is 59.646%.
