Martial art is the treasure of fine traditional Chinese culture, and it is an important integral part of traditional Chinese culture with its distinct local features. "The Hometown of Martial Arts" exerts great force in the development of the national martial arts; it is the basis of the inheritance and development of cultural heritage; it is the main force to carry out mass healthy movement; it plays a leading role in the promotion of socialization and marketization; it plays an indispensable role in the development of Chinese martial arts. Known for its long history, rich cultural heritage and strong atmosphere of martial arts, Qiaocheng Bozhou won the first batch title of "The Hometown of Martial Arts". As the practice shows: the development and growth of "The Hometown of Martial Arts" plays appositive role in the promotion and popularization of martial arts.This thesis adopts the methods of literature references, field surveys, questionnarie,mathematical statistics and logical analysis and other research methods to deeply analyze the current situation and develop of martial arts in schools in Qiaocheng,Bozhou and mass martial art. It combs and analyzes the context of martial arts development in Qiaocheng,Bozhou. It can enhance its role-playing as the hometown of martial arts and accelerate the pace of “six forwards”and promote the implementation of the National Fitness Program and increase martial art's contribution to national fitness. This thesis can provide atheoretical and practical basis for martial art's healthy and sustainable development.Main results: 1. Students in Qiaocheng, Bozhou don't have a deep understanding of "the hometown of national martial arts"; they don't have a clear definition of martial arts and they are being in fuzzy cognitive state. 2. Most schools in Qiaocheng, Bozhou lack of professional martial arts teachers and teaching materials; more than 60% of primary and secondary schools have not set up martial arts classes; four vocational schools are now offering martial arts classes in physical education. 3. There are a large of number of people engaged in martial arts in Qiaocheng, Bozhou and their ages vary a lot.The older masses have a deeper understanding of the martial arts than young masses do. Televisions, movies, novels, folk performances and festival boxer are enhancing the public's understanding of martial arts in varying degrees. 4..2% of the people in Qiaocheng,Bozhou lack professional guidance when they exercise martial arts. Therate of interruption among martial arts masses are very high,accounting for 28.7%. 63% of martial arts mass exercise more than seven times in a week.5. The mass' s prejudice on martial art hinders its development.Students sought afterforeign sports eagerly, leaving local martial art weakened. Other sports also bring strong impact on martial arts. Martial arts are developing unevenly in urban and rural areas with rural area slagging behind.
