Martial arts are very important part of the Chinese martial arts landscape, and it is increasingly gaining the attention of university students. Chinese Martial arts is rich in techniques, offensive and defensive movements, and principles, and is very suitable for both the mental and physical conditions of young people. Therefore, it has been vital to the development of this art in China that Martial arts clubs are rapidly developing on university campuses. This study surveyed 150 college students in three different Qinghai universities as well as 8 different Martial arts teachers and teaching management officers and also utilized in-person observations of real Martial arts classes. Using the above methods, an analysis of the factors influencing the state of Martial arts on university campuses was conducted and some proposals for improvement are offered.Through this survey, the author discovered the enrollment of new recruits among the universities students in Qinghai province in Martial arts programs; The present situation of teaching Martial; arts and teaching resources, situation of learning martial arts by students in traditional sports majors. According to author's analysis, it is determined that the main factors influencing the teaching of Martial arts throughout universities in Qinghai are:the level of awareness among policy makers regarding Martial arts; the skill levels of the Martial arts instructors; the motivation of the students to learn Martial arts; the facilities and equipment; and the employment situation of graduates from the program.According to the current state of Martial arts instruction in Qinghai universities, the author proposes the following improvement measures: first, improve the decision-making and managerial abilities of the manager; second, improve the teacher training system and increase the skill level of the staff; third, increase funding in order to improve the facilities; fourth, optimize the curriculum and develop new and innovative training models; fifth, establish incentives for student to participate in Martial arts competitions; and sixth, strengthen the science behind the teaching of Martial arts. Hopefully by implementing these proposed measures, improvements can be made to the development of Martial arts in Qinghai province.
