Wushu is an important part of Chinese traditional sports, and has been widely practiced around the world. It posseses the strong characteristics of the Chinese nation a condensation of Chinese national spirit and culture. The development of Wushu in Tanzania and Africa, an economically underdeveloped region, has been slow compared to developed countries like those in Europe or the United States. However, to be sure, Tanzania is not indifferent to Wushu. Their love of Chinese Wushu is in no way infereior to that in developed countries. With the continued improvement of China's status in the world community of nations, the number of people eager to learn Chinese martial arts in Africa has been growing.. The Promotion of Wushu in Tanzania has good prospects, for the cultivation of local martial arts talent, the promotion of national culture and win-win cultural exchange. The author has chosen to undertake this research into the promotion of martial arts in Tanzania because the author's family has been directly engaged in the promotion of Wushu. Long-term working experience through thegood platform of the Confucius institute haslaid a good foundation for martial arts promotion. This study is based on a review of the literature, interviews, direct investigation, and analysis of the data in order to evaluate the promotion of Chinese Martial Arts in Tanzania. The study finds that the promotion of Wushu in Tanzania still faces some major challenges:1. The policy for the promotion of Wushu is not clear. Although work has been carried out for the promotion and popularization of Chinese Wushu, the understanding of Tanzanian students towards Chinese martial arts is still limited. Due to the limited level of local economic development, the popularization of Wushu also faces restrictions.2. Cultural differences in the process of the internationalization of Chinese martial arts poses obstacles to inter-culturl communication. Chinese martial arts developed in close symbiosis with traditional Chinese culture. This makes the translation of concepts difficult. There are obstacles to communicating the essence of traditional Chinese martial arts so that Tanzanian students can grasp them more effectively.3. The uptake of Chinese martial arts has been limited. Hanban has invested in the promotion of Wushu, but the results have been very limited. The spread of Chinese Martial Arts in Tanzania has reached a bottleneck in its development.. There has been limited investment by Tanzania in the development of the Chinese martial arts, so it has come to rely primarily on the Chinese side, making work difficult for the Confucius Institutes.,4. Tanzania economic development conditions. Tanzania's level of economic development directly effects the promotion of Chinese martial arts.. Although there are economic constraints, the local development of martial arts is relatively high, and there is a popular base of interest.Through the analysis of the promotion of Chinese martial arts in Tanzania, and a study of Tanzanian martial arts clubs and their students, the conclusions for the promotion of Wushu are as follows:.1. The promotion of martial arts abroad is the only pathfor the development of martial arts. Research needs to be conducted as to how it is to be adapted to different regional characteristics.Under the guidance of the International Wushu Federation, the thinking and skills of Chinese Wushu can be promoted.2. The selection of Wushu teachers needs to be perfected. Teachers are the core of spreading martial arts culture abroad. Teaching staff have an irreplaceable role in the process ofpromoting Wushu.,Therefore, developing qualified teaching staff should be the top priority. In the case of Tanzania, finding professional martial arts coaches who can train local practitioners is a recommended path.3. The style of teaching Wushu should be optimized. Traditional ideas of consanguinity and parochial clanism need to be abandoned. Universalized martial arts techniques and ideas are needed for the effective spread of Wushu outside." Innovative teaching methods are needed, including adaptation to clubs, non-governmental organizations and other forms of communication., The content of instruction should be adapted according to the local characteristics of Tanzania4. Martial arts promotion should be combined with modern information technology. The information age brings new opportunities to the development of world culture, and martial arts internationalization. Communication opens up broad prospects. The internet is an effective force in promoting the internationalization of Wushu.5. The promotion of martial arts should be linked to local economic development. For example, these can be linked through the demand of Chinese and other foreign enterprises for security services. With the aid of the Confucius institute, traditional Chinese culture can be beter promoted through the promotion of economic development in Tanzania.
