The 21st century is the era of knowledge competition, the traditional teaching mode is no longer able to meet the needs of social development. As a new way of learning, research study came into being, It refers to the learning activities, in which students choose and determine the subject of research from the natural phenomena, social knowledge and daily life under the guidance of teachers, and in the process of studying the students acquire knowledge, apply knowledge, solve the problems forwardly.It highlights the dominant position of students in learning cultivates innovative spirit of students, it also improve students' practical abilities. "Basic Education Curriculum Reform" is issued in 2001, it stipulates that the research study is set as required courses in primary and secondary schools to high school; "Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan (2010-2020)" stipulates that research study is an important guarantee for improving the comprehensive quality of high school students. Shaanxi Province began to implement the new curriculum in 2007, and along with the secondary schools in Shaanxi began to carry out the research study generally. Therefore there is no doubt that research study is quite important in basic education, but in these years, the implementation of research study is mostly no tangible fact, there are still some imperfect aspects.This paper bases on theories and results of domestic and foreign theories in research study, as well as the characteristics of chemistry in high school, and investigates the present situation about the research study in Xi'an high schools by questionnaires, interviews, classroom observation and other ways, which can help find the current status of implementation of research study and then find the existing problems during the development process.At present the teachers and students have one-sided understanding for research study, students' interest is not strong, implementation process is a mere formality, lack of appraisal objectivity, through in-depth thinking, from the administrative departments of education, schools, teachers, students and parents, evaluation system, research topic selection and other aspects discuss. Through deep thinking, from the administrative departments of education, schools, teachers, students and parents, evaluation system, the choice of research topics and other multiple aspects to discuss, and then propose some effective countermeasures for research study.Finally, starting with the characteristics of the research study and chemistry, this paper analyzes the general process of the chemistry research study, selects two chemical research study cases, further presents the general process and method of conducting chemical research study. Through arranging the related theory and investigating the application status of research study, as well as the concrete exploration of the practice of research study, It aims to improve the relevant theory and urge the normative development and also promote the effective implementation in the chemical research study, deepen the reform of education and teaching in middle school, it also plays a positive effect in cultivating the innovative spirit and practical ability of the students.
