Research On The Learning Disabilities Of Logarithm And Logarithm Function Of High School Students

Logarithm and logarithmic function are the contents that students from Senior Grade 1 must learn.By comprehending the history,the status in teaching materials (as per National Curriculum Standards),and the proportion in entrance examination of logarithm and logarithmic function,I found that logarithm and logarithmic function are extremely important contents in high school education. And by the research of pertinent literature as well as the interview of teachers and students,I concluded that most students can't understand the concept of logarithm and logarithmic function and have difficulty in studying.This text investigates via questionnaire and test paper:1.Get knowledge of students'interest, attitude and habit of mathematics learning,and confidence of learning logarithmic function. 2.Get knowledge of what problems will arise for students when learning"logarithm and logarithmic function"Classify the problems exist in students. Analyze the reason why students have obstacles and put forward corresponding teaching suggestions based on the reason.This study indicates that there are some issues exist in students when solving problems, including the failure to understand the definition of logarithm and logarithmic function,the wrong memory of logarithm properties and transforming the bottom of logarithm of formula,the neglect of the truth that natural logarithm is bigger than zero,the difficulty of applying the image and property of logarithmic function,and the failure to realize the flexible application of knowledge. By analyzing these issues,I roughly divided the learning obstacles into cognitive disorder,mental disorder,operative disorder and environmental disorders.At last,by analyzing the reason why exist obstacles and aiming at those specific obstacles,I put forward teaching suggestions.
