Music education for preschool children in the republican period of China (1912-1937) has a dynamic development process because it connects the old and new education in China. It is followed by the reform of preschool education in modern China, therefore it has a profound impact on the development of China's music education for preschool children, and also it present its distinctive feature and unique historical personality during this process. Therefore, the author choose the music education for preschool children in the Republican period of China (1912-1937) as the object of this study, and many methods such as literature analysis are used to comb and summarize the historical basis of music education for preschool children in this period. In this thesis, the establishment and improvement of preschool education systems, the causes and evolution of preschool music courses and teaching model and the development process of music education in kindergartens are analyzed systematically. Finally, the rule, characteristics, experiences and lessons-learned of music education development of preschool children were concluded. Taking the music education history in the Republican period of China as reference is helpful for our country to enrich and improve the realistic development and progress of music education for preschool children.
