Local Geography Teaching In High School Geography Teaching Resources Development And Util Ization

Since implementation of the new curriculum standard in senior geography and therefore continuous updates of geography textbooks,this paper has based on main contents of geography and selected typical local geographical cases in order to promote students' understanding of knowledge and realize the objective to combine high-school geography teaching with practical teaching resources of local geography,which can also of great significance to enhancing students' grades in geography and their affection towards hometown.Taking high-school classroom teaching of geography as the carrier,this paper has not only collected and reorganized local geographical materials,but also produced teaching resources of local geography and implemented teaching based on course contents through field investigations and visits of geographical environment of the Yilan County.Major teaching methods adopted in this paper are as follows: First,carry out teaching practices combining with teaching resources of local geography for one class and prove students' strong interests in hometown's geography;especially when natural environments of some students' hometowns were mentioned,they can immediately answer the questions and actively participate in class,which has manifested students' deep feelings towards their hometowns,meanwhile improved class efficiency and helped students grasp the key knowledge in high-school geography.Secondly,comparison with another class without implementing a teaching pattern combining with teaching resources of local geography.Students in this class may feel a little bored and lack enthusiasm,whose mastery of high-school geographical knowledge were also worse than that of the experimental class.Thirdly,reversal of teaching implementation combining with local geographical teaching resources in these two classes;in class,importance of local geographical teaching resources in high-school geographical teaching is evidently demonstrated,since those resources can not only arouse students' interests in learning geography but also improve their geographical scores.Mainly based on geographical environment in Yilan County,this paper has developed and utilized local geographical teaching resources,combined with teachingpractices in high-school geography classes and produced typical teaching cases,so as to provide some reference ideas for high-school teaching of geograph.
