In the 1960s and 1970s,homeschooling movement was arising in the United States.At the beginning of homeschooling movement,it was criticized and suppressed by public schools.However,through the relentless persistence and efforts of the homeschooling parents,homeschooling finally got Public schools' support and recognition,and in the 1990s,it became legal.After half a century's development,homeschooling has become an important supplement of American school education.This paper will show the development of the homeschooling movement in America by examining the changes between public and homeschool systems.In the introduction,the author explains the reasons for choosing this topic,and defines the research subjects and questions,while also stating the methods and the innovative perspective of this research.The author then correlates the research to not only China but other foreign countries as well.The first chapter introduces the historical origins and background of the homeschooling movement.The second chapter expounds the process of the struggle between the home school and public school by introducing the classic case of "Wisconsin" v."Yoder","Perchemlides" v."Frizzle".The third chapter illustrates how the relationship between homeschooling and public school can be mitigated by introducing the efforts of the homeschooling movement's pioneer John Holt,Moore,and how the school can get legal status.The fourth chapter introduces the specific cooperation process between homeschooling and public school and analyzes the reasons and the development characteristics of the rapid development of homeschooling.Homeschooling has its own specific historical background and conditions,through the study of homeschooling movement,we can more clearly understand the homeschooling development progress,and more fully understand the United States'Social attitudes to homeschooling,but also to better restore the homeschooling as a special educational phenomenon of the historical process.
