With the development of modern educational technology,the corpus is more and more closely integrated with education.This thesis will discuss the effects of the corpus-based English vocabulary teaching on senior high students' vocabulary learning.Through providing some typical concordance lines from some huge corpus,it will give students the opportunity to learn more natural and authentic languageandimprove students' capability of how to use word correctly.This thesis attempts to apply corpus to practical vocabulary teaching in senior high school's English class.It centers on improving students' English vocabulary breadth and depth,which include vocabulary size,meaning and collocation in this study.According to the Data-Driven Learning and Discovery Learning Theory,teachers should firstly provide some selected concordance lines from corpus to students,and then ask students some questions which are enlightening or let studentshave discussions with group members.Moreover,the author used quantitative research methods in this study.The author chose two classes from the senior high school where she had internship,as controlled class and experimental class respectively.What's more,the author carried on teaching experiment in experimental class,while the controlled class was carried on the traditional vocabulary teaching.Before and after 10 weeks of corpus-based language teaching,two pre-tests and two post-tests were designed to examine students' English vocabulary size,meaning and collocation.Data was collected from the experiments and then analyzed by SPSS 18.As expected,the result proved that the new technology and teaching method are helpful to the learners in their vocabulary learning,bothin the aspects of breadth and depth of vocabulary.Finally,the author provides some teaching suggestions and some matters needing attention.
