Civic Farm:reconstruction Of Urban-rural Relations And Social Trust By Food Production

At present,the food safety crisis is mainly manifested of the consumers do not trust the quality of food in the industrial food system.Out of food care,some urban residents operate their own modern organic orchards.Most of them are born in rural areas,contract the land around the rural areas of Chengdu through land transfer ways,use their leisure time to operate their own modern agricultural garden,uphold the concept of urban agriculture which is green and organic and ecological.By the production of food,coupled with their constant walk in the city and village,making the city and rural life organically integrated,better explain the relationship between urban and rural in new era.In recent years,some studies have shown that some of the fast-growing cities in China have taken the lead and started to practice urban agriculture,but the studies of the civic farm which concern organic fruit are very few.This article trying to enrich the relevant research through the meticulous presentation,This paper takes the modern organic orchard in Chengdu as an example,through the theoretical framework of food urbanism,uses the method of qualitative research to explore how to construct urban-rural relations through Food Production and how does the trust of food affect the trust relationship between urban and rural residents.Specifically,this paper will discuss four dimensions of food production:the production of food(edible products),the symbolic production of food,the reproduction of food knowledge systems,and the production of social relations from food.This paper argues that the city residents produce the symbol of "clean" and"dirty",and fully combine the experience of traditional farming and personal life and the knowledge of modern scientific cultivation.Transparency of all production processes,trying to reconstruct people's trust in food and break through the differential food trust pattern.The civic farm practiced by urban residents can,to a certain extent,resolve the crisis of trust based on food between urban and rural areas,establish the food-based social trust of urban-rural residents through the important carrier of food,and reconstruct the urban-rural relationship in the new period.so that it presents the organic integration of each other.At the same time,the development of these orchards can promote the endogenous development of rural areas and in response to the construction of new socialist countryside and urban-rural integration process.
