As a way of artistic expression,dance once started as a profession in which few were involved,to now becoming a major at colleges and universities;conforming to the new policy of “quality education”.Approved by the Ministry of Education,Beijing Sport University established the Sport and Arts Department in the year of 2003.Dance Sport Program was established in 2005,relatively recent when compared to other majors.In recent years,with the effort of all the students and teachers,Beijing Sport University Sport Dance Program originally created a number of excellent dance routines embedded with “BSU spirit”.Those works were highly recognized by relevant authorities within professional dance arts field and also earned a lot of honor for the University.However,it is inevitable that there are some practical problems in the teaching activities of these routines.These problems not only influence the teaching activities of Beijing Sports University,but also are not conducive to the cultivation of comprehensive talents.This paper studied current teaching situation of Sport Dance Program's dance performance class at Beijing Sport University by using the methods of literature data,questionnaire survey,expert interview and observation.After analyzing the combined data from questionnaire survey and the opinions of experts and scholars,I have concluded the following:1.There is a big difference in the level of students.The proportion of men and women is not harmonious.There is a big gap between general school students and art students in the professional ability.Students' comprehensive quality needs to be improved.2.The teaching objectives of Sport Dance Program dance performance class are more and more clear,the period of sports performance account for 1/11 of total major period.In reality teaching activities,teachers will extend the class time or add extra classes in spare time for accomplishing teaching planning and content.It shows that the period of sports performance class fail to meet the demand of practical teaching.3.Sports performance is used the system of class teaching.There are about 50 students and 1-2 teachers in one class.Due to the large number of students and inequallity of professional level,the teachers usually ignore the differences between students.The way of teaching is monotonous and teachers can not be with respect to all students..The sports performances class has no unified teaching material as the theoretical support.The way of teaching knowledge is used by dictating to the students.There are not enough teaching facilities in the course of performance class.A total of 3 classrooms are used for teaching.But the teaching environment is too open and noisy.There is not independent dance classroom.4.Recently,the teachers of sports performance teaching are graduated at Beijing Dance college.These 80 s teachers are master and they are mostly lecturers and tutor.These teacher have strong professional ability,working enthusiasm and creativity,but teaching ability and scientific research ability need to be improved and strengthened.5.The main factors that affect the teaching of sports performance are student factors,the implementation of teaching content,the proportion of hours,teaching materials,teaching environment and teachers' comprehensive ability.6.The improvement of the physical performance of the sports performance repertoire of the Beijing University of Sport and Sports is mainly due to the improvement of the quality of the students,the appropriate increase in the time course of the sports performance repertoire,the improvement of the construction of the theoretical teaching materials,the construction of the teaching sites,the improvement of the teaching venues,Comprehensive talents...
