In recent years,a lot of studies have shown that as the law of language organization it is necessary to learn English grammar.However,in the real life,acceptance learning model has been adopted in the learning of English grammar all the time.Students are only the machine of obtaining knowledge.In this circumstance,the study of English grammar has become boring,and the students have lost interest in grammar learning.Therefore,it is imperative to promote students understand the status of grammar in English learning and to guide students to learn grammar and to change the style of English grammar learning.Inquiry learning provides us with a new approach to change the existing learning model.Inquiry-based learning model refers to that students conduct independent study and cooperative discussion under the guidance of the teachers,so that students' ability to analyze and solve problems can be improved.In order to investigate the current situation of inquiry-based learning patterns used in English grammar teaching,the author conducted a three-month survey in the senior high school of the third-tier city.There are three questions to be investigated: 1.What is the current situation of inquiry learning style used in senior English grammar teaching? 2.What are advantages and disadvantages of inquiry learning style used in senior English grammar teaching? 3.What are the problems when teachers use inquiry learning style in senior English grammar teaching? These three problems are solved by three methods.Through the analysis of the questionnaire,interview and classroom observation,we can draw conclusions as following.The superiority of the inquiry learning model has been universally recognized by teachers and students.The inquiry learning model not only creates a good learning atmosphere for students,but also puts forward some challenges to the students' thinking ability.Inquiry-based learning style also has some weakness,it has a relatively high demand for students.If the student has very little knowledge,the inquiry results will be difficult to carry out.The inquiry learning style also raises new requirements for teachers,who need to change the traditional teachingfunction to a good conductor.From theory and practice,this paper analyzes the inquiry learning style and puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the English grammar learning style in senior high school.
