Writing can reflect a senior high school student's comprehensive language using ability,one of the major tasks of senior high school English teaching is to raise the students' writing ability.With the deepening of the high school English teaching reform,researches on writing teaching are going deeper and deeper.The research result at home and abroad shows that there is distinctive native language transfer in senior high school students' English writing,the transfer in syntax and culture are especially obvious.Based on the theories of Language Transfer,Contrastive Analysis,Interlanguage Theory and Error Analysis,the present study makes an analysis on the impact of negative transfer of mother tongue on English writing in senior high school.Eighty-four students of two classes of Hebei Xingtai No.19 Senior High Middle School are taken as the subjects.This study aims to find answers to the following questions: what kinds of errors are caused by negative transfer appears in students' English writing? What is the main reason? And what pedagogical implications can be drawn from this study? A questionnaire,an interview and writing samples are used to collect data.EXECEL is used to classify the errors and analyze the experiment result.In the end,the thesis proposes some strategies from several aspects,such as substance,lexis,grammar,syntax and discourse to cultivate their consciousness of second language writing,the awareness of discourse coherence and improve the students' writing ability.
