In the process of learning English,reading is one of the basic skills that language learners need to master.Meanwhile,it is also the key way to obtain language input.Given that,the New Curriculum Standard for senior High English has defined reading as one of the major components in senior high students' English learning and set standards to evaluate their reading level.Previous results show that reading strategies are purposeful approach which readers take to solve difficulties during the process of reading comprehension.Because of the importance of mastering reading strategies,issues such as features of students in reading strategies application,teachers' knowledge,awareness and training of reading strategies in senior high schools are all focuses of this research.Based on the theories of English reading strategies,the current situation as to how different types of English reading strategies are applied in senior high schools has been explored via a sample survey.According to the statistic analysis with the R software,the multivariate linear regression formulas between the reading scores and the frequency in the use of different reading strategies have been obtained.Results shows that there are correlations and diversities between the applying of different strategies and the reading efficiency.The correlation means all kinds of reading strategies have positive effect on improving reading efficiency.While from the curve analysis among three variable factors including types of reading strategies,the frequency in using strategies and reading efficiency,it can be found out that differenttypes and frequency will also have different effects on reading efficiency.Moreover,through interviews and classroom observation among 3 English teachers,it is shown that at present,teachers' awareness in guiding students to use reading strategies during teaching process is relatively weak and their training of strategy need to be urgently improved for lack of diversity and instructiveness.Finally,based on the previous analysis and discussion,relevant suggestions on learning and training of reading strategies in senior high schools are put forward.
