Group cooperative learning originated in the United States is a new teaching theory and strategy.It's known as “the most important and the most successful teaching reform in recent decades”.It's widely used in English basic education in China and emphasizes that students develop comprehensive language skills on the basis of heterogeneous grouping and clear division through participation,experience,practice,cooperation and communication learning.Therefore,this study includes four aspects: How to carry out group cooperative learning in junior middle school English class? Does group cooperative learning increase students' interest in English learning? Does group cooperative learning can improve students' English learning achievement? Does group cooperative learning improve students' cooperative learning ability and the ability to solve problems independently?This study uses literature research,questionnaire survey,interview,classroom observation.The study results show that the group cooperative learning can increase students' learning interest and confidence,improve their English learning achievement and cultivate their cooperative consciousness and social ability.It has unique advantages of promoting the improvement of students' thinking quality and cultivating autonomous problem-solving ability.The results show that group cooperative learning can help students learn actively instead of learning passively,enhance the effectiveness of English teaching,enjoy English learning and feel the sense of achievement.
