In 1983,Howard Gardner,a professor of Harvard University,put forward the theory of Multiple Intelligences.The theory emphasizes the students' intelligence,uniqueness,and the diversity of development.The theory of Multiple Intelligence emphasizes the individual differences of the students and encourages the teachers to cooperate with the students.It encourages teachers to adopt the model of multivariate teaching way and to maximize the learning efficiency.This intelligence theory promotes the combination of educational ideas and teaching practice.The reform of English classroom teaching in primary schools has been carried out for many years.The traditional teaching emphasizes teacher-centered classroom teaching methods.The new teaching methods are taking in account the students as a learner's self-learning strategy,that is learner-centered communication teaching.In the face of the reform of English teaching,how do teachers adapt skills and training objectives of the theory and practice of the combination of how to integrate English teaching materials and teaching methods to improve their teaching skills and strategies? Multiple Intelligence theory can provide us some ideas.This paper mainly analyzes the status quo and existing problems of primary school English classroom teaching activities from the perspective of Multiple Intelligence.At the same time,it puts forward how the theory can inspire English teachers to use the teaching materials in the classroom and cultivate students' diversified ability,And a rich classroom teaching activities to illustrate the design examples.The object of this study is the five English teachers and 116 students from Grade Three in Shanghai RX Experimental Primary School.Research methods used interviews,questionnaires and observation methods.This paper mainly researches the following three questions:First,how does the development of teaching activities under the multiple intelligences affect students' intelligence level?Second,what's the status quo of the English teachers in the classroom teaching activities in the design of intelligent activities? What are the experiences,problems and perplexities?Third,how to combine the theory of multiple intelligences with existing teaching materials and courses to further improve the effectiveness of intelligent activities carry out?The study finds that the teacher's classroom design concept,the number of activities,the number of intelligent activities and the effectiveness of activities can affect the impact of the development of students' multiple intelligences.In the three classes,the study finds that if the teachers using more intelligent types,students interested in learning,English learning self-confidence are relatively high.In terms of intelligence,teachers' teaching philosophy and teaching style will have an impact on students,and the efficient use of multiple intelligent activities,not on the surface and form,will also affect the quality of classroom teaching.Therefore,on the basis of theoretical research and investigation and research,this paper puts forward the design strategy of classroom teaching activities based on Multiple Intelligences theory and the unit design case of primary school English classroom teaching activities based on curriculum.According to Oxford English unitary and specific knowledge characteristics to select the more suitable type of intelligent activities,and stressed the high quality and efficiency of intelligent activities.
