Psychological status of college students has become a research focus that higher education needs to pay more attention to and explore.More and more researchers in higher education have probed into this field,which will definitely accelerate the development of higher education.Based on the psychological development of college students and with the help of questionnaire and interview survey,this study attempts to discover the current situation of college students'(who are in university for nationalities)life values,professional commitment,future orientation,the relationship between the three factors and especially the influences of the first two factors on the third factor through a series of statistics and analysis.Finally,the paper puts forward suggestions for promoting college students' life values and raising the level of professional commitment for future orientation.This paper tries to make its small contribution to promote a sound development of universities for nationalities and to promote an active and healthy growth of our college students,accelerating the development of our national higher education.This study adopted stratified cluster random sampling and simple random sampling,selected 800 undergraduate students from the Northwest Minzu University and acquired 695 valid questionnaires.The valid return rate was 86.88%.The questionnaire adopted the "Life Values Questionnaire(LVS)" compiled by Zhang Yan and Xu Fang(internal consistency reliability coefficient:0.869)and the"Undergraduates' Professional Commitment Scale" compiled by Lian Rong and Yang Lixian(internal consistency reliability coefficient:0.927)and the "College Students'Future Orientation Questionnaire"(internal consistency reliability coefficient:0.883).Besides,10 students from different majors,grades,ethnic groups of Northwest Minzu University who are more representative and convincing were interviewed with interview outlines designed by myself.According to statistical analysis and discussions,the general conclusions are as follows:1.The life values of students who are in university for nationalities are in the medium level.There is no significant difference in gender,home locations and parental education level and whether they are student cadres or single children or not.The significant differences are in professions,grades and ethnic groups.The differences mainly show in the factor of existential value,which the score of art students is higher than the science students.In the three factors and the general level of life values,there are significant differences among the college students in different grades and different nationalities.Specifically,the score of the freshmen and juniors is higher than the sophomores and seniors,and the score of the Uighur and Tibetan students is higher than the Han and other ethnic minorities.2.The professional commitment of students who are in university for nationalities is in the medium level.There is no significant difference in gender,home locations and mothers' education level and whether they are student cadres or single children or not.There are significant differences in grades,ethnic groups and father 's educational level.The differences mainly show in all the factors and the general level of professional commitment,the score of the freshmen is higher than other grades;in the factor of ideal and continuing commitment,the score of the freshmen,sophomores and juniors is significantly higher than the seniors;in the factor of emotional commitment,ideal commitment and the general level of professional commitment,the score of the Uighur students is higher than the students of other nationalities.In the factor of ideal commitment and the general level of professional commitment,there is significant difference among the college students whose fathers have different education levels.3.The future orientation of students who are in university for nationalities is in the medium level.There is no significant difference in gender,home locations and fathers' education level and whether they are student cadres or single children or not.There are significant differences in gender,grade,ethnic groups and mother's education level.Specifically in the factor of future education orientation,the girls'score is higher than the boys' and the differences of exploratory and evaluation factor is significant.With the increase of grade,there is a rapid decline at first and then a slow rise in the development of the future education orientation factor and the total score of the future orientation.The score of freshmen is significantly higher than other grades,while the score of sophomores is lower than other grades.In the factor of future career orientation,the score of the Uighur students is higher than the students of other nationalities and the differences of exploratory and input factor is significant.In the factor of future career orientation,there is a significant difference among the college students whose mothers have different education levels.4.Through correlation analysis,step-wise regression analysis and mediating effect test,the conclusion can be drawn:there are significant and positive correlations between the three factors of life values,the four factors of professional commitment and the three factors of future orientation;the life values and the professional commitment of the college students are important to predict its future orientation,which can predict 43.4%variance in the future orientation;the target value factor from the college students' life values,and the three factors of emotional commitment,normative commitment and ideal commitment from the college students' professional commitment can explain the 45.3%variance of future orientation.The college students' professional commitment plays a partial mediation role between their life values and future orientation.Finally,specific education suggestions on the life values,professional commitment and future orientation of the college students were given.We should raise the level of life values,professional commitment of college students.We should pay attention to the training of college students' emotional commitment,ideal commitment and target value.We should value the intermediary role of the professional commitment.It is necessary to attach importance to the influence of life values and professional commitment on the future orientation and try to apply them in practice.
