Research On The Development Of Citizen School In Chongqing Public Rental Housing Community

With the acceleration of the urbanization process in China,public rental housing,one of China's major livelihood projects,has been constructed nationwide as a means to meet the housing demand of urban low-income people.It not only helps retain talents that are useful for the urban development,but also effectively promotes the harmony and stability of our society.And the citizen schools in the public rental housing community,as a nonprofit organization,endeavor to enrich people's life and make them feel the sense of belonging by carrying out six types of activities,including policy advocacy,cultural ability promotion,sports and recreational activities,skill training,youth rights protection and community assistance,so as to make contributions to social harmony.The citizen schools in Chongqing public rental housing community has been spoken highly by people from all walks of life since 2011.But it is still in the exploration stage theoretically and practically for it is new in our society.Based on a typical citizen school in Chongqing public rental housing community,this thesis aims to do SWOT analysis of the public rental housing from four aspects: strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats,and put forward thorough solutions in order to make a good example for the future development of the citizen schools in public housing community.The thesis includes the following contents:Introduction: in this part,firstly,it introduces the background and significance of the research;secondly,it analyses the research status both at home and overseas;thirdly,it illustrates the research technique,which includes literature research,field research and case analysis;fourthly,it points out the main points,difficult points and innovative points of the research.Part I: in this part,it defines the concepts of community,public rental housing community,citizen school and citizen school in public rental housing community,and analyses the differences between citizen schools in the public rental housing community and normal citizen schools.Besides,it introduces the definition and application of SWOT analysis,which contains factor analysis and matrix analysis.The factor analysis includes the analysis of its strengths(S),weaknesses(W),opportunities(O)and threats(T)while the matrix analysis includes S-O,W-O,S-T and W-T strategies.Part II: in this part,it gives a brief introduction of the operating status and managementmode of the citizen school in Chongqing M public rental housing community and make the assessment by adopting SWOT analysis method.The strengths of this public school lie in the various forms of its activities,the closeness to the residents and the multi-channel of its resources while the weaknesses are the insufficient infrastructure construction,improper usage of volunteer resources,inadequate promotion and irrational service pattern which is against the long-term development of the school.The chances for the schools are the facts that there are a large number of public rental housing under construction,the government are very supportive and the reform of the social groups and organizations in Chongqing is on the way.However,there still exist some threats: the residents of public rental housing community are quite special,people still have some misunderstanding of this kind of school and the development of social organizations in Chongqing is still imperfect.Therefore,this part also gives four types of strategy patterns(S-O,W-O,S-T,W-T)as well as the suggestions for future development by matrix analysis.Part III: in this part,based on the SWOT analysis of the case mentioned above,it puts forward some proposals for future development of citizen school in public rental housing area: first is to urge the government to offer more supports;second is to improve its own construction;third is to improve the quality and ability of the volunteer teams;fourth is to innovate activities;and the fifth is to enhance social credibility and the publicity.Part IV: in this part,it makes the conclusion,points out the shortages of the passage and leads the way for future research...
