<Guideline for High-School Physics Teaching> puts forward the idea that the feature of physics should be highlighted and experiment should play a significant role in physics teaching.Demonstration experiment is the most commonly used teaching approach.To enhance its teaching performance is very important to improve physics teaching.This thesis is based on constructivism learning theory,aiming at rectifying the low performance of current physics teaching.By adopting the suggested approaches,teacher should build a dynamically interactive atmosphere among lecturer,students and knowledge where student and teacher play an equal role in teaching.The weaknesses of current demonstration experiment teaching are investigated using the methods of questionnaire and interview.Six weaknesses are analyzed and summarized in this thesis: the lack of distinction between priorities and objectives,the limit of common experiment,the mismatch between lab goals and teaching instructions,the mismatch between lab goals and teaching strategies,the lack of experiment assessment and the limit of exam-oriented education.Referring to the summarized weaknesses,four categories including twelve specific improving approaches are brought out,such as concentrating on the objective,optimizing experiment design,optimizing experiment strategy and improving the ability of lecturer.The high performance of demonstration experiment teaching such as keep it simple,interactive between lecturer and student,should be achieved.
