There are some steps of math learning in the elementary school that pupils need experiences,expressions,pictures and words steps.The Experiences step is the first step of math learning in the elementary schools and other steps are followed.The definition of "experiences step"is about activities that under an open,personalized circumstance,students use their senses to consciously contact tangible objects to obtain the direct understanding of the quantitative and spatial relationships between objects,which help students to get a perceptual understanding of the abstract mathematical knowledge.Experiences step contains assimilation,classification,arrangement and matching activities.The design of experiences step follows the pupils thinking development that the characteristics of pupils’ thinking are gradually from the specific image thinking to abstract thinking,which helps them understand the mathematical knowledge better with intuitive and perceptual knowledge.Through the literature research and case analysis method,the full study has five parts:the preface,the understanding of the theory and practice of experiences step,the problems,the causes and the solutions to problems of students’ experiences that is as the first step of math learning in the elementary schools.What’s more,it mainly provides specific recommendations of how to use the basic activities of experiences step in math class based on the perspective of class type which makes the basic activities of experiences step deeply associated with the class type in the second part.The research shows three causes leading to four basic problem of the experiences that is as the first step of math learning in the elementary school.We are informed that the causes of the problems are the teachers’wrong interpretation of the concept to experiences step ’teachers’one-sided view to choose and use experiences tool,and teachers’one-sided view to exercise the sensory ability of students in the experiences that is as the first step of math learning in the elementary school.There are the problems,including experience target lacking and fuzzy,experiencing the insufficient time and a single activity form and insufficient degree of the experience tool development when conducting experiences which as the first step of math learning in the elementary school.The solutions to problems are that teachers need to be clear about the experience goal design,teachers need to improve the sensory ability of students,teachers should try their best to make sure that students would be clear about basic steps of experience activities and teachers should know how to use the strategy of interactive generation in the process of experience activities.
