Nowadays,elementary education reform advocates the cooperative teaching model.Most of the researchers focus on the large and medium cities.While the junior middle schools are located in the places between urban and rural areas,There are few studies on the current situation of cooperative learning in junior middle school English teaching.In this study,some teachers and students of Huilong Middle School in Shizhu County of Chongqing Municipality were taken as the research objects,and the author used literature research,interview and questionnaire to research the following two questions: Firstly,what is the degree of recognition and understanding of cooperative learning for teachers,and whether there are differences in the attitude and skill of cooperation among students of different grades and genders.Secondly,what are the problems of cooperative learning in junior middle school English teaching,and then the author puts forward some countermeasures according to these problems.This paper analyzes the situation of cooperative learning in junior middle school English teaching from various aspects,and carries out in-depth research on the support of various cooperative learning theories,which provides guidance for junior middle school English teachers' classroom teaching.The results show that teachers have good knowledge of cooperative learning and higher recognition for the teaching model.But at the same time,there are a series of problems in the specific practice teaching.For example,theory divorces from practice,the group construction is not scientific,the evaluation mechanism is not appropriate.At the student level,there is no significant difference in the cooperative skills between the students of different genders and different grades,but some students lack cooperation skills.There are significant differences in the cooperative attitude between the students of different genders and different grades,and students have different attitudes during the cooperative process.There is a substantial divergence of opinion within the group,and the group cohesion is relatively weak.At the end of this paper,the corresponding solutions to these problems are put forward,which provide the guidance for the future cooperative learning model in junior middle school English teaching.
