With the development of science and technology,the multimedia teaching has been widely used in education and teaching activities all over the world.With its own characteristics,multimedia courseware also provides various teaching methods in modern English listening teaching.Listening,among four basic skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing,plays the first important role in learning English.With information input,"Listening" is the fundamental step of learning any language.Improving listening ability is not only beneficial to develop other abilities,but also of great importance in improving communication skills and enhancing language pragmatic competence.However,under the pressure of college entrance examination,most of the teachers only deliberately focus on students' test capabilities in listening,not the cultivation of listening ability itself.The multimedia courseware in English listening class have not been used properly.It is only used for saving time,expanding the capacity and playing the audio.Based on the status quo of teaching,the innovative application of multimedia courseware in high school English listening teaching becomes very important and necessary.By investigating the real situation of a number of representative high schools in Hanzhong region,and with the methods of observation,questionnaire,interview and so on,this paper mainly presents that the use rate of multimedia courseware in high school English listening teaching is relatively high,but the use effect is poor.The paper explores the problems encountered by teachers in using multimedia courseware during their listening teaching,such as the lack of interaction between teachers and students,the rapid pace of teaching,blind use of courseware,lack of understanding of courseware and so on.According to the physiological characteristics mental characteristics of high school students,combined the Schema Theory and Constructivism,the paper presents that there are many aspects that need to be innovated.First of all,it is reflected in the regulatory aspects of innovation: the multimedia courseware in English listening needs a complete set of quality control system and the supervision system,so as to ensure that the teaching is always along with the science;secondly,it embodies the innovation in design and manufacture: the multimedia courseware in English listening needs a series of perfect design and manufacture principle,so as to ensure that the teachers has something to refer to in the production process;thirdly,the innovation of production methods and techniques: teachers should be allowed to try to innovate in the production methods and techniques of multimedia courseware in English listening,so as to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of teachers in multimedia listening teaching and let the multimedia courseware work to the extreme in the class.The results of this study can effectively guide the teaching of English listening in high school.And it will be valuable to the combination of English listening teaching and multimedia courseware in high school in the region and the ones with similar economic level.
