Many studies suggest that good performance of principals' instructional leadership has a positive effect on students' academic achievements.The principal has been taken for the leader in the process of school development,and the curriculum reform of elementary education put forward higher requirements on principals' instructional leadership.On the basis of existing studies,we could make the conclusion that principals' instructional leadership still remains to be improved,and how to improve it has confused the primary and secondary school principals for a long time in China.The initial plan of this study is to measure how well the principals' instructional leadership performs and find ways to better improve it in the context of Hebei Province.The county educational administration system is the main body of current educational administration system in our country.Pre-Research shows that the performance of principals' instructional leadership has many characteristics in common as far as in the county territory of Hebei Province.Combined with the theoretical research and the investigation,this study selected the primary and secondary school principals in W County of Hebei province as research object,and studied the realistic performance of principals' instructional leadership in W county as well as the its influencing factors.Based on the analysis above,this study puts forward the strategies aiming at improving the principle instructional leadership of W County.In terms of the significances of this paper,it can promote the native studies of principles' instructional leadership going further,and provide reference for the improvement of the principles' instructional leadership in W county as well as in Hebei province.This paper consists of 3 parts: introduction,body part and conclusion.And the body part includes the following four chapters.The first chapter defines the connotation of principal instructional leadership and confirms it's framework by analyzing and sorting out relevant theories of instructional leadership.The research framework consists of 6 first class dimensions and 15 second class dimensions.The understanding of the principal instructional leadership is the foundation of this study.Based on the research framework of principal instructional leadership,this paperrevised the “principal instructional leadership rating scale(for teacher)”and tested it's reliability by pretest.The second chapter analyzes the performance of principals' instructional leadership in W county by questionnaire investigation.And the analyses include the overall level of principals' instructional leadership,the difference analysis and dimensions analysis.The third chapter discusses the influencing factors of principal instructional leadership in W county.Combined with quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,this part demonstrates 3 influencing factors: the principal's personal factors,school organizational factors and the school's external environment factors.Based on the analyses above,the fourth chapter discusses how to improve the principals' instructional leadership from 2 perspectives: promote the principals' educational ideas and improve the educational management system in W county.
