Teaching Strategies Based On Cooperative Learning In Junior Middle School Oral English Teaching

With the development of global science and economic,English is widely used and become the most important mean of communication in human life.According to the New Curriculum Standard,English teach ing not only h elp students understand the knowledge of English and culture awareness,but can also help students im prove communication skills,cultivating the cooperative spirits.Therefore,it is more and more important to apply cooperat ive learning m odel in junior middle school oral English learning.The author did one-week on-the-spot investigation in Tianhui Middle School in Hebei province,aimed at researching the successful experien ces of cooperative teaching,the oral English teaching strategies and effects of these teaching strategies.The author studied the research findings of cooperative learning m odel from the domestic and foreign experts,com bined with the practice of oral English teaching in Tianhui Middle School,then analyzed and su mmarized the teaching strategies of oral English teaching in junior m iddle school.First of all,th rough class observation on the establishment and evaluation of the coopera tive group,the author summ arized four organizational teaching strategies and four evaluation strategies.Then,the author made a sample lesson case study and English teacher interview,these investigation activities mainly aimed at the design and application of specific oral English teaching strategies which were found to prom ote the for mation of students centered teaching m ode in Tianhui Middle School and confirm the new curriculum standard of oral English teaching.Next,the au thor carried out qu estionnaires to students,then found that cooperative learning mode brings great help to students’ oral English learning,and it can be confirmed in these points,arouse students’ enthusiasm and inspire the interest of English learning,reduce the a nxiety of using E nglish,strengthen the responsibility of group member and team spirit as well as indi vidual personalities.Finally,the author concluded that teaching strategies of cooperative learning provides a so lid foundation for the students to improve their oral English,for example,establishing a reasonable group to create a good atm osphere for oral English learning;using refinement evaluation standard to give a clear guide for students while practice their oral English in the cooperative learn ing and cultivating th eir positive learning attitudes about oral English.Meanwhile,the author gives some suggestions based on students’ questionnaires and the sample lesson research to optimize the teaching strategies.
