Since twenty-first Century,China's higher education has entered the transition period from "elite education" to "popular education".After years of expansion,the emphasis of university education has shifts from scale to quality construction,all classes have put forward higher and newer requirements for personnel training quality of higher education.The University's majors setting largely reflects the ability of allocating resources according to the needs of the market and the discipline construction and other needs,major level of running school reflects the basic science construction of universities and the competitiveness for long-term development."Major reputation" is the overall impression of social group with the major comprehensive strength of the university,which to a certain extent reflects the level of running a university for some majors.In recent years,the popular majors,major employment and major salary concepts having been included into an important part of students' major choice,the major reputation has also become a widespread concern in the community.However,the current research in the field of major reputation in our country is very scarce,the related research abroad is also rare,and because of the differences in national conditions,the reference value is limited.Based on the above understanding,this paper uses the college entrance admission scores data over the years on the basis of the study of major evaluation of our country's Universities,to carry out empirical research on undergraduate major reputation by the relevant methods of statistics.The first chapter mainly introduces the research background and significance of major reputation,and understands the current domestic and foreign relevant research status of major evaluation through literature review,which provides a theoretical basis for the following undergraduate reputation research.The second chapter defines the related concepts of reputation,university reputation and major reputation,and take the influential university rankings at home and abroad as the research object,through the method of literature survey,to grasp the current research trends of university rankings at home and abroad.In the research on the present status of China's top universities,the method of comparative analysis is used for internal longitudinal comparison and transverse contrast of four ranking lists in China,including Wu book list,large list,alumni list,rating chart,and respectively analyzes the main features and the existing problems,and further thinks about strategies of improving university rankings,paving the way for the subsequent construction of undergraduate major reputation model.The third chapter puts forward study supposition on undergraduate major reputation with analyzing existing problems of ranking lists,clarifies the relevant principles of model construction,and gives a general idea from the macro research.In the process of constructing undergraduate major reputation model,the main factors that influence admission scores changes such as regional factors,college level and so on,are testified of their obviousness by the one-way ANOVA and others.The results prove that in our current college enrollment system,there is a certain degree of differences in region and tries to construct a set of undergraduate major reputation evaluation model through differences between the admission scores.In the stage of empirical analysis,taking the example of computer science and technology,the paper selects the national admission scores consecutive data from 2013 to 2015.I pay special attention to the different college entrance examination scores in different regions.Firstly,data is processed of unifying score to ensure admissions scores lines of each province are compared in the same conditions.Then,interference factors are eliminated by adjusting the enrollment plan,area,college level and other factors that caused admission scores differences.Finally,a set of scientific data over years are used to get a set of reasonable comprehensive undergraduate major reputation ranking.The model in this paper is based on the historical data of college admission scores,trying to break the traditional way of major reputation evaluation,the specific situation of the undergraduate major reputation is measured through the college entrance examination admission scores,which opens up a new direction for the study of major reputation and provides the reference value for major reputation evaluation research and major choice of university candidates and other aspects.
