Instrumental rationality is booming all over the world, which makes the whole process of education in normal middle schools dissimilated to a kind of field of technological assembly line that trains the man to be an instrument. The method of discipline oriented to punishment is filled with every corner in schools. As a result,it gives rise to large losses in individualized training pattern and a sharp dissimilation in relationship between teachers and students.By aiming at the situation of discipline in normal middle schools, this dissertation is searching for several actual issues hiding behind the situation and deep inductive factors. In the perspective of humanism, the author hopes that this dissertation can construct some feasible strategies to deal with these issues based on the consciousness of responsibility called pointing out issues and offering suggestionsThe qualitative research was adopted as the main method in the dissertation, which also contained interview, object analysis, case study. Then the author acquired empirical information from education locale through field investigation.Every object chosen through investigation was regarded as a case. Therefore, the author chose two normal middle schools(which were called school A and school B)as the main objects, then, there were five persons chosen from each school(ten persons in total)as the objects of interview through purposive sample. As a result, the author obtained a large number of first-hand information through deep semi-open interview.Based on the investigation, the original information was reassembled and encoded to explore the native concept. The thick description about these native concepts through category analysis was the theoretical basis which constructed the basic framework of this dissertation. The dissertation contains the following six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which contains a brief illustration about the origin of investigation, core concepts, literature review, the purpose and contents of investigation, investigation methods, investigation process,as well as the value and innovation points of investigation. The second chapter is the statement about current situation, which focuses on the current situation of discipline in normal middle schools and contains the definite statements about the characteristics of discipline in normal middle schools, the situation of educational stratification, and segmentation patterns of students' seats(which are involved in a manifestation pattern of planarity in educational stratification). The third chapter is to search for issues through phenomena. These issues are hiding behind the situation of discipline in normal middle schools. The author is searching for issues generated in the process of discipline from the aspect of a loss in individualized training pattern and a dissimilation in relationship between teachers and students. The fourth chapter is the analysis of attributions, which are the significant inductive factors of issues caused by discipline in normal middle schools. These factors are the inducements of instrumental rationality, unbalanced allocation in educational resource, and a lack of family education. The fifth chapter is the strategies dealing with these issues, which provide some suggestions dealing with these issues caused by discipline through the analysis of attributions. For instance, education must return people oriented, make the most of social resource, and pay more attention to home visits. The sixth chapter is the epilogue, which draws a conclusion from the cogitation about discipline and the shortage of investigation. Not only are they a summary about the investigation achievement, but it is also a reflection about the shortage of investigation.
