With the development of the information age,the deepening of the multicultural background and the development of the globalization,citizenship education has gradually become a hot issue in the field of education.The development of citizenship education in a country or region should pay attention to bound together three points organically,following the law of citizenship education,based on the local actual development situation and characteristics,focusing on the world view of citizenship culture,so as to achieve the goal of citizenship education and get the ideal effect of civic education.At the same time,it is necessary to make school,society and family to cooperate with each other,which ensures the continuity of the process of civic education and the effectiveness of the results.Among all of these,"school" as a regular form of education has played a crucial and professional role which assumed the main task of civic education and cannot be replaced by social and family in the aspects of citizenship awareness,skills and overall citizen literacy training.Rigorous and free environment,scientific course,colorful activities and the interaction between teachers and students,all of these contribute to create favorable conditions for the development of citizenship education in school.Canada,with the background of multiculturalism and known as the "mosaic"country,think highly of the development of citizenship education.Alberta that emphasizes the development of education is more active to carry out the citizenship education and focus on the implementation and guide of civic education in schools.We can know that the primary and secondary schools in Alberta has formed systematic system in citizenship education from target to specific implementation and evaluation,and the province continues to promulgate policies and documents guiding the development of citizenship education in schools.From this point of view,we can say that Alberta has owed perfect external security and social atmosphere in their primary and secondary schools.For the curriculum parts,through analyzing curriculum goal,curriculum content,curriculum implementation,curriculum evaluation of main courses in primary and middle schools of Alberta province,social study,science,mathematics,language,we can find that Alberta has formed citizenship education curriculum system that rely mainly on social study while penetration of other curriculum subsidiary.Even through there are many problems in the citizenship education curriculum in Alberta,like theory is divorced from practice,national consciousness is not prominent,the contribution of government and social in citizenship education curriculum and other characteristics are worth affirmation and learning.Curriculum is the practical part of education,so the research of citizenship education curriculum in primary and secondary schools in Alberta Province can help us summarize some universal and practical implications and suggestions,and further enrich our experience of civic education in schools and course creation and broaden our horizons and international view.
