Research Based On Patent Data About The Influencing Factors Of Invention Patent Life Time Of Project 985 Universities

Since the Patent Law was implemented,development of patent cause in China has made considerable progress.The number of' patent applications and patent authorization is constantly increasing annual,which has made great contributions to economic development,social progress and the improvement of people's living stands.The rapid increase in the number of patent applications do not enhance innovation capacity of China effectively.Problems such as low rate of maintenance;short maintenance time and so many problems of invention patents of universities restrict the further utilization of patent.As an important part of the national innovation system,improving the quality and level of invention patent output is not only related to the construction of scientific and technological innovation capacity of universities,but also directly related to the implementation of the national independent intellectual property rights strategy.As to such problems,a series of studies have been carried out by many scholars,but there is little research studying about universities and variables such as the number of patent citations,the number of non-patent citations and the number of forward citations.Therefore,the research was carried out in order to clarify the influencing factors of invention patent life time of Project 985 universities and effects these three variables in China context.Firstly,by reading articles and combing the literature,we learn and sum up the current domestic and foreign research status,which lay a solid theoretical foundation for the research.Based on theory of survival analysis and cost-benefit theory,this paper constructs the analysis mode of the influencing factors of invention patents of Project 985.Through empirical study using Cox model,22992 invention patent data between 1985 to 2005,are used.Finally,the research results are analyzed and summarized,and the research deficiencies and future directions are presented.Some conclusions are given below.Firstly,the invention patent survival situation of coalition of university and enterprise is far superior to that of other type of patent holders.Secondly,factors such as the number of patentee,the number of inventors,the number of directions,the number of claims and the number of forward citations of patent,have significantly positive correlation with survival time of invention patent of Project 985 universities.Thirdly,the granted time of patent always has a negative impact of survival time of invention patent of Project 985 universities.Fourthly,the impact of the number of patent citations and the number of IPCs on patent survival time is unstable due to the structure of data.Fifthly,the number of non-patent citations has negative impact on survival time of' invention patent of Project 985 Universities to some extent.Finally,the influencing factors of invention patent survival time of Project 985 universities are changing dynamically in different regions and time.
