With the development of "student-centered" teaching reform,more and more educators from different countries have paid attention to "active learning",which emphasizes students' active participation in classroom teaching.Promoting students' active learning through classroom teaching strategy is a research topic of theoretical and practical significance.This study demonstrates the theoretical basis of "active learning" and its rationality,as well as the classroom instructional strategies in universities and its particularities.And clarifying the importance of instructional strategies to promote students' active learning.The author uses the self-compiled questionnaire to conduct a questionnaire survey on the students from the sample university,and conducts classroom observation for a number of classes,to find out the current situation of the application of teaching strategies in college classroom and students active learning.Through deeply investigating and analyzing,this study finds out the problems in the process of university teachers using teaching strategies.Firstly,traditional teaching accounts for the proportion of teaching time is too large.Secondly,teachers tend to abide by the book knowledge in the process of dealing with teaching content,and lack of expansion of teaching content.Thirdly,there are few types and times of interactive activities between teachers and students.In this regard,the author puts forward the following recommendations.First of all,university teachers should dare to break the traditional class order management;using group teaching,collaborative learning,practical teaching and other forms of teaching organization to create a democratic classroom atmosphere.Secondly,teachers should carefully design and organize the teaching interaction between teachers and students to improve the quality of classroom interaction,so that students could see the different aspects of problem in discussing and debating with teachers and classmates.Promoting Students actively engage in learning.Last but not the least,teachers should screen and process appropriate teaching content and materials according to the students'needs and the update of knowledge in the classroom teaching.Teachers should pay attention to the specialty,scientificity and forefront of knowledge,and expand the teaching content.
