Listening plays an important role in English teaching,but it has not been paid much attention in English listening teaching.Language knowledge has been put in the first place and the cultivation of language ability has been ignored in English teaching.Traditional listening teaching has little effect by using a single teaching model,which directly affects the improvement of the students' English listening ability.The process of modernization of science and technology has effectively promoted the development of teaching reform,so experts and teachers have begun to try to use some new teaching equipment and teaching modes in aid of English listening teaching.Authentic movies attract the teachers' attention due to their intuitive language and vivid image,and experts and teachers are trying to apply it to English listening teaching research.So the author conducted an empirical study on the application of authentic movies in senior English listening teaching.Based on Krashen's input hypothesis,emotion filtering hypothesis and constructivism learning theory,The author explores the feasibility of English authentic movies listening teaching by using pre-test,post-test and questionnaire survey to verify three hypotheses about listening teaching: 1.Authentic movies listening teaching can improve English listening autonomic learning awareness of senior high school students.2.Authentic movies listening teaching can significantly improve students' English listening score.3.Authentic movies listening teaching has different influence on students of different levels.The author selects class(3)and class(5)as the experimental class and the control class.Authentic movies listening teaching mode is applied in the experimental class and the traditional listening teaching mode is applied in the control class.The result of the questionnaire shows that Authentic movies listening teaching can improve English listening autonomic learning awareness of senior high school students.The analysis of statistical data of the pre-test and post-test done by spss19.0 shows that Authentic movies listening teaching can significantly improve students' English listening score and has different influence on students of different levels.In summary,authentic movies listening teaching is a suitable teaching mode for senior high school students.
