With the advent of the era of "big data",data processing ability has become one of the basic skills of every citizen.Data processing is the ability that every student should master in the learning of math.students must learn to deal with all kinds of information,especially the ability of processing data information.In this paper,I study the data processing ability of students in junior high school.First through the literature research,combing the domestic and foreign data processing ability of the existing research results,I defined the connotation of the data processing ability and nine indicators.Then,through the questionnaire survey and case study,I found the overall situation of students' data processing ability in junior high school and grade differences,as well as the practical performance of the specific problems,and the differences between boys' and girls' group work.The results show that the data processing ability of students in junior middle school is general.They can describe the relevant characteristics of the data,know about the related concept,but they are weak in the elaboration of differences and relations in statistics,as well as the data processing ability and they can't apply knowledge in new situations.All indexes are in different levels.Among them,the reasonable design of survey questions ability,the ability to eliminate error or invalid data,reasonable organization and the ability to simplify data and using appropriate statistical graphic data ability level are high,the ability of the proper usage of statistical methods and the the ability level of understanding the statistical data of randomness and regularity is low.Among different grades,the results are different,the data processing ability of the students in Grade Seven are the best,followed by students in Grade Nine,the data processing ability of the students in Grade Eight are the worst.In practice,the data processing ability in junior high school students is good,students can understand the general process of data processing and the different concepts of statistics.Also,they can apply their knowledge to new situations,and with the growth of the grade,this phenomenon increases year by year.But of the three grades,boys' individual ability level is lower than girls' individual ability,team cooperation ability is generally higher than that of students' individual ability.The team cooperation ability levels of Grade Eight and Grade Nine are the highest in the same period.As for the same grade,the comparison between the boys' and girls' individual ability level is not obvious,but the team cooperation ability is increasing with the growth of grade,the advantages of group work is obvious.Finally,according to the result of school-based research,I come up with some suggestions to strengthen students' ability in data processing.
