With the rapid development of China's economy,teaching Chinese as a second language is also gradually thriving around the world,especially in Asia.There are something in common and similarities between the South Korea and China in the history,culture and language.With the development of culture and economic relations between China and South Korea,Chinese learners is also increasing year by year.At the same time,the age of the Chinese learners in South Korea tend to younger-age,more and more middle schools and high schools are offering the Chinese as the optional course.The influencing factors of Chinese learning in South Korea secondary school students have been attracted much attention by linguistic researchers.Obviously,the learning motivation has been one of the most critical influences among the influencing factors in South Korea secondary school students.What's more,the causes of the Chinese learning motivation have been seen as an important reason of Chinese learning effect in the South Korea.Based on the Chinese learning motivation and causes of the secondary school students in South Korea as the main content,this thesis includes five chapters.The thesis is organized as follows.Chapter 1 is the introduction part,which mainly expounds the research purpose and meaning,research methods and ideas.At same time,it briefly summarizes some comparative international studies on the learning motivation.Furthermore,this part also introduces some related theories of learning motivation that will be used in this thesis.Chapter 2 includes the questionnaire of students Chinese learning motivation in the South Korean secondary schools and cases analysis.For the Chinese learning motivation study,researchers have surveyed the students from one middle school and one high school in South Korea.The main content of this questionnaire is around the related factors of the school students learning motivation in South Korea.Simultaneously,combining the practical cases of Chinese learning in the South Korean secondary school students and the results of the questionnaire reveal the influencing factors of Chinese learning motivation.Chapter 3 analyzes the Chinese learning motivation causes.Based on the data results of the questionnaire and practical cases in previous chapter,this chapter makes the concretely analyses from three different perspectives,which are objective environmental factors(social environment,school environment,home environment),learners factors(intelligence factor,non-intelligence factor),instructor factors(teachers' quality,the lecturer's ways of teaching,teachers'personality and appearance).Chapter 4 discusses the motivation stimulating strategies of Chinese learning in South Korea.This chapter mainly puts forward some targeted measures and strategies from school,teachers and students themselves,in order to produce better teaching effect and learning effect.Chapter 5 concludes the thesis with a brief summary of the major findings of the research as well as pointing out the limitation of the current work.In the meantime,in the future development prospects of the Chinese in South Korea are forecast.
