Teaching English In Primary School With Original English Animated Films

Being exposed to a great number of authentic English learning materials,students can enhance their English learning ability as well as get a better understanding of language culture.For children and even adults,English animated films which contain a lot of incomparable advantages,can be regarded as an English learning and teaching resource.This research,with fifteen Grade 5 students as the subjects and in terms of test and interview,attempts to explore:(1)How and to what extent does the use of original English animated films in primary school facilitate students' English learning?(2)How and to what extent does the use of original English animated films in primary school facilitate the upper group students' English learning?(3)How and to what extent does the use of original English animated films in primary school facilitate the middle group students' English learning?(4)And how and to what extent does the use of original English animated films in primary school facilitate the lower group students' English learning'?Based on the discussions,findings can be safely concluded.On the whole,teaching English to primary school students is worthy and challenging.Also,Findings demonstrate that the whole group has made significant progress,while different groups have made different changes in terms of learning effect.To be specific,the middle group has made great achievement according to the significant difference,while the upper and lower groups make no significant progress,which implies there still exists room to improve this model of teaching English with original English animated films.Accordingly,some advice for further researches is given.
