At present, the number of boys in secondary education is more dominant, while the number of girls in higher education is fully dominant.A dozen years ago,the number of boys in higher education is still far ahead of girls, such a short period of time will lead such a huge change. We can not help but reflect on the existing secondary education system and the implementation of the new teaching model in recent years.Cooperative learning is a teaching model that has attracted much attention and widely practiced in recent years. This paper research on gender differences in mathematics learning of junior middle school students in the cooperative learning model.Based on the research results of domestic and foreign scholars and the results of questionnaire survey and data analysis, this paper studies the difference of male and female students' mathematics learning in cooperative learning model. The results show that there are significant gender differences in junior middle school students' adaptation to cooperative learning model, and girls can adapt to cooperative learning model faster and better. There are significant gender differences in math scores, girl's scores are better than boy's scores, and the distribution of results more concentrated. The gender differences in mathematics learning are objective and the differences are influenced by multiple factors. On the basis of the investigation, this paper mainly analyzes from four aspects: the first is the cooperative learning model itself, including the division of learning groups, the distribution of roles, classroom implementation and evaluation system on the impact of gender differences;followed by gender difference in the intelligence aspect;and the gender difference in the non-intellectual aspects;finally, the impact of external environmental factors.Based on the above conclusions, the author puts forward some suggestions to reduce the gender difference in mathematics learning of junior high school students from two aspects:improving the cooperative learning model and optimizing the teaching of mathematics teachers. The gender differences in math learning are objective, but not unchangeable. We believe that scientific and rational teaching model and effective guidance of teachers can control and reduce the difference,so as to promote the balanced development of junior high school mathematics learning.
