Objectives: To study:1)gender differences in cardiopulmonary function and energy metabolism in obese adults,2)the characteristics of cardiopulmonary function and energy metabolism in different exercise intensity before and after intervention,so as to provide theoretical support for fitness and weight loss of related people.Methods: The total of 10 obese men and 10 obese women(BMI>28kg/m2)without respiratory system and cardiovascular disease,for a period of three months aerobic exercise and resistance training and stretching exercises fitness intervention.Every subject has received the sports energy consumption test in four intensities(45%?55%?65%?75%VO2max)and body composition test before and after the exercise intervention for three months.The data were analyzed by generalized estimation equation model.Results :1)Before the intervention,compared with the female counterparts,male subjects' weight was heavier,Fat% was extremely lower,muscle content was extremely higher.After the intervention,The amount of fat,Fat% of males were extremely significantly less than before intervention(P<0.01),the amount of muscle is extremely significantly higher than before intervention(P<0.01);women in body weight,fat mass,BMI significantly lower than before intervention(P<0.05).2)Before and after the intervention,the subjects' indices reached the summit at the intensity of75%VO2max except the index of fat oxidation.Fat oxidation reached summit at the intensity of 45%VO2max for male subjects and 55%VO2max for the female counterparts.3)Gender comparison,in addition to BF and HR does not exist gender differences,man in the other cardiopulmonary function indicators were significantly higher than women.After the intervention,the male subjects' indices of OP?VO2?VO2/kg?VE?VEmax and MET have improved extremely significant,and the indices of VT have improved significantly at the intensity of 45%VO2max.At the intensity of55%VO2max,the indices of BF and VT have improved extremely significant,and the indices of VO2 and VEmax have improved significantly after the intervention.At the intensity of 65%VO2max and 75%VO2max,every index was not significantly differentwith that of before the intervention.As for female subjects,at the intensity of45%VO2max,after the intervention,the indices of VO2/kg and MET have improved extremely significant,and the indices of VO2 and VCO2 have improved significantly.At the intensity of 55%VO2max and 65%VO2max,the indices of RER have improved extremely significant and the indices of VO2/kg and VCO2 have improved significantly after the intervention.At the intensity of 75%VO2max,the indices of RER have improved extremely significant after the intervention.4)Before the intervention,Male in addition to the degree of oxidation of fat in varying degrees than women,the other indicators of energy metabolism were significantly greater than women.After the intervention,the male subjects' indices of EE,EE/kg and EE/BSA have improved extremely significant,and the index of CHO have improved significantly at the intensity of 45%VO2max.At the intensity of 55%VO2max,the index of CHO has improved significantly after the intervention.At the intensity of 65%VO2max and75%VO2max,every index was not significantly different with that of before the intervention.As for female subjects,at the intensity of 45%VO2max,after the intervention,the indices of CHO,EE/kg and EE/BSA have improved extremely significant,and the index of EE have improved significantly.At the intensity of55%VO2max,the index of CHO has improved extremely significant and the indices of EE/kg and protein oxidation have improved significantly after the intervention.At the intensity of 65%VO2max,the index of CHO has improved extremely significant after the intervention.At the intensity of 75%VO2max,every index was not significantly different with that of before the intervention.Conclusions: 1)Obesity adults have significant gender differences in baseline body composition indices,cardiopulmonary function indices,energy consumption and substrate metabolic indices.2)After three month of fitness intervention,obese adults' body composition indices have been improved significantly.3)Before and after the intervention,the energy consumption indices reach peak when the exercise intensity is75%VO2max,except the indicator of fat oxidation(obese men reach peak at45%VO2max,obese women reach peak at 55%VO2max).4)The three month of fitness intervention can improve obese adults' cardiopulmonary fuction,energy consumptionand carbohydrate consumption in low exercise intensity,while this improvence is not obvious for the indicator of fat oxidation.
