A Case Study On The Schoolwork Burden On Junior School Students

The over-weight schoolwork burden on junior school students is a key problem which needs to be solved for deepening the basic education reform and carrying out the quality-oriented education.Alleviating schoolwork burden on junior school students has become a hot point in educational circles,because the overweight schoolwork burden is disadvantageous to teenagers' physical and mental development.Although the government and many scholars have made great efforts to alleviate the schoolwork burden on students in junior school,the results are not satisfactory.An effective way to lessen the burden on junior students still needs exploring.This study plans to show the current situation of the schoolwork burden on junior school students truly through case study,and find out the real reasons so that some corresponding suggestions are given.According to this purpose,the study mainly includes the following parts:The first part is exordium.The reasons and meanings for selecting this theme,the train of thought and methods of this research,the definition of relevant concept and the literature review about schoolwork burden are introduced.The second part introduces the process of this study.Firstly,the selection of a person for investigation.The X student of HS junior school in Honggutan district,Nanchang,Jiangxi province is chosen as the case for this research.Next,the basic introduction of the case.In this part,The X student and his school,his performance at school,his parents and his family are simply introduced.Then,the collection of materials.The writer,a practice teacher,observes the X student contiguously in order to gain the first-hand materials by writing observation diary and interviewing record.Finally,the analysis of study materials.This study will analyze the schoolwork burden on junior students from objective and subjective parts.The third part shows the current status of the schoolwork burden on X student.According to the data,the real situation of schoolwork burden on the X student is shown from objective and subjective parts.And the results of heavy burden on him can be seen through comparing to relevant standards.The fourth part is the analysis of reasons.The reasons why the X student has heavy schoolwork burden are found out by means of the observation and interviewing records of X and his teachers and parents.The fifth part is about the strategies of alleviating schoolwork burden on the junior students.Some relevant suggestions are put forward according to the reasons for heavy schoolwork burden on X student.
