The core of this study investigates on the solution of Chinese language learning difficulty for the non-Chinese pupils in the Chinese primary school in Malaysia.The basis of Chinese Education is about word recognition.In order to read and write,one should acquire a certain amount of literacy.Due to some limitation of this study,upper class which is the researcher's current class has been chosen as the target group instead of the lower class although word recognition is the main learning objective for the lower class.Majority of the target group consists of non-Chinese with a high standard on their own mother tongue where they have a certain level in their cognitive ability.The main problem of not able to read and write where they did not recognise enough amounts of words during their lower class is because of the lacking of a conducive environment for learning Chinese.This study investigates on the words recognition of the target group and designs some suitable words recognition methods in order to increase their amount of literacy on words recognition where pupils will be able to obtain the feel of success and increase their interests in Chinese language,thus achieve autonomous literacy.Literature review of this study consists of the Chinese language learning situation of non-Chinese in Malaysia,second language learning methodology,foreign language learning,various words recognition pedagogies/literacy teaching,hierarchical teaching,direct translation methodology,multimedia pedagogy,etc.In addition,the study literature review includes second language learning theory,word recognition pedagogy theory,success learning theory,cognitive learning theory,Dr.Glenn Doman Flash Card theory,etc.This study can be done with the combination and the analysis of the scholars' studies,the understanding of the current topics and based on the theory to investigate on the three major factors on literacy,adding the trial and error on the phonetic and the meaning pedagogy,and thus practically implement in the class with constant observation and improvisation till it is workable and effective.Hanyu Pinyin and speed reading are chosen to be conducted for the phonetic part in this study.As for the meaning,direct translation method is preferred to be conducted as to directly translate Chinese into Malay language with the visual assistant to enhance their memory.For the glyph,teaching Chinese character by analysing the method of making Chinese character is selected in this study with strange associations' method and instant writing method to enhance their learning.Eventually,pupils are given lower class vocabulary list to study independently.Based on Doman and Makoto Shichida's theory,this study generates a new method with the used of multimedia in creating flash card which is used for speed reading on vocabulary in enhancing the phonetic of the words.In reference to Vasyl Sukhomlynsky,glyph is improved with writing method facilitates by the implementer.The main objective is to elevate pupils in Chinese learning.In conclusion,the report of this study records the possible pedagogy strategy as reference.
