The Application Of Positive Psychology In Community Social Work

As one of the major three methods of social work, community social work shoulders a greater responsibility in its development in China. As the community problem which needs to be solved desperately is becoming increasingly serious and the qualification of community workers is relatively limited,community social work has received the attention from the government and academia earlier than case and group work method. Traditional community social work focuses on the problems of residents in life and carries out specialized work from problem perspective. However,it lacks attention and intervention in preventing the occurrence of problems, caring about the positive psychology of residents, enhancing their subjective happiness, and improving their quality of life. Positive psychology is a new field of research in the past decade in the US that advocates the use of scientific methods to mobilize people's positive power, positive quality, wisdom and creativity, so that professionals can analyze and solve the problems from strengths perspective and guide people to enhance their positive emotion. The concept of positive psychology has been accepted and integrated into other disciplines such as education and management, delivering great academic and practical fruits. Positive psychology is of great significance to the study of social work in Chinese community. It can open a new perspective for China's community work and guide it with scientific methodology. It can be seen that positive psychology should be tried to integrate into the field of community work.Under the guidence of positive psychology, the author will skillfully take the social work of community governance project "silver years collection" with professional technology as an example to study the application of positive psychology in community social work. The paper is divided into five parts. The first part explains the reasons and significance of the topic, domestic and foreign research status,research methods and ideas and related concepts. The second part analyzes the feasibility of hypothesizing the application of positive psychology in community work.The third part presents the background of the project, the problems of the residents,the causes of the problems and the need to solve the problems from the perspective of positive psychology. The fourth part mainly elaborates how social workers under the guidance of positive psychology use open space conference technology to guide the project and the psychological process of the target group in the project process. The fifth part summarizes and discusses the application of positive psychology in community work, puts forward the precautions and existing problems, and envisions the future of community work from strengths perspective.
