Higher education funds is an important material guarantee for the development of higher education in a country.The investment of higher education funds in a country will directly or indirectly affect the quality of higher education.Since independence,the Indian higher education has achieved a leap-forward development,which has gradually from the elite education to the popular education.With the adjustment and reform to the higher education of the financial in India,its higher education funds have changed from the pattern of single financing in the past to the multi-channel financing trend which consist of the government,students and their parents,colleges and universities and domestic and foreign society..There is many kinds of sources for higher education funding,which is mainly support by central government and state government,supplement by students and their parents,colleges and universities and domestic and foreign society.In this paper,the four types funding sources consist of government subsidy,tuition fees,college self-interest income and donation,respectively,are taken into the in-depth systematic research,attempts to analyze the historical changes of the input of higher education funds and tries to analyze the international background and social historical reasons behind the change,on the basis of above all,summary the characteristics of funds.At the end of this paper,it summarizes the experience and shortcomings of higher education in India for more than 60 years in educational investment and the use of educational input to influence the quality of higher education,which lead to an important reference for the reform of higher education finance system and the transfer of the focus on the distribution of higher education resources.
