The TPR didactics(Total Physical Response)originated in the 1960s.It is first created by James Asher who is a psychology professor at San Jose State University of California.The implementation process of TPR didactics is that teachers use voice and body movements at the same time to demonstrate the commands,which helps students to understand the instruction.Once the students fully understand the instruction meaning,they use their body movements to give teachers the right response.It is a kind of teaching method making a connection with the language and the physical movements naturally.TPR teaching method emphasizes on the coherence of physical movements and language.It believes that children speaking out a language is the basis on their understanding and children can learn a language happily in a pleasant atmosphere such as playing game and music.It also conforms to the regularity and characteristics of children's body and mind development.TPR didactics is a good way to build Chinese thinking and fit for the beginner of Chinese mandarin.This thesis is based on the theory of TPR didactics,combining with the 5C standard and taking the classroom teaching activities in Chinese immersion elementary school of the United States as a reference.The thesis will analyze the results of the data and research some practical teaching cases,after doing teaching experiments and classroom observation also taking the Kahoot tests.The paper fully demonstrates the feasibility and necessity of TPR didactics combined with 5C standard in the immersion Chinese language teaching of the United States.The paper raise its own proposals on "how to improve the TPR teaching method application in the immersion Chinese teaching" from the difficulties and problems in actual teaching.At the same time,I hope that my overseas teaching experiment can enrich TPR didactics theoretical system and practical teaching system,as well as this paper can provide referential suggestion to all the Chinese teachers carrying out Chinese language teaching in the United States in the future.When the didactics really fit the needs of students,the best teaching effect will happen.
