Algebra is still a vital part in mathematical development. The popularization of science and technology, such as modern computer, plays an indispensable basic role in all kinds of areas. The development of thinking can be able to train a person to the understanding of- the essence. Pupils are in a period of high-speed development of thinking. This paper tests and analyzes higher grade pupils’ developmental level of algebra and provides feasible data support for the cultivation of algebraic thinking.This paper is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, from the aspects of the importance of algebra to discuss the research background, main content and method.The second chapter is the research review, organize existing literature study of algebraic thinking. It mainly has three aspects: the study of the core concepts of algebraic thinking; research on the transition of arithmetic understanding of algebraic thinking cultivation research. Previous understanding of algebraic thinking and research on the basis of the main achievements of algebraic thinking related to review the early algebra,analysis of the core characteristics of algebraic thinking.The third chapter is the selection and optimization of the test scale, combined with literature review to select appropriate algebraic structure model of thinking and improve the model in order to make it reasonable, each index is layered, form a scale to test highergrade pupils’ algebraic thinking.The fourth chapter is the test design and implementation, according to the third chapter of the text scale to design test volume, try to measure volume of the test for fine-tuning, forming a formal test, finally choose suitable object for testing.The fifth chapter is the test result and analysis, the use of statistical software of the first volume of the test reliability and structural validity is analyzed, that test to be trusted.Then the development of algebraic thinking as a whole, the development level of each factor and each index, correlation and difference analysis, get the main result is: (1)senior pupils have aroused algebraic thinking. Rule, characterization, equation, function thinking basically achieve lower level; Characterization and calculate the law level of high and low score, equation, function thinking have larger gap, they have larger rising space; Law and inverse thinking is still in relatively low levels of levels,need more strengthened. (2) Algebraic thinking development level by grade factors significantly influence, with the rise of algebraic thinking development of grade levels increase gradually; With gender, age, there was no significant difference. (3) The algebraic thinking development has significant positive correlation with math, three factors have a weak positive correlation,there is a moderate correlation between the two indicators of each factor.The sixth chapter is the conclusion and prospect, the main research results of narrative, analysis the problems in the process and further research direction.
