Mutual-help And Empowerment: Social Work Intervention Into The Expectant Two-child Mothers

After the " Separate Two-child" policy, our country government implemented the "Two -child" policy fully in 2016, encouraging women of child-bearing age give birth to second child. Expectant mothers who will have two children will gradually grow after this policy, they are worthy of attention. As the research object of this article, at present, the academic circle about expectant two-child mothers' attention and research is limited, social relevant departments for them is also lack of attention and help.In this paper, with the aid of T city H community "Baby B Plan" expectant two-child mothers mutual-help community's formation, we get information about the current situation, pregnancy attitude, and in spirit, economy, and family relationship these three aspects problems of the expectant two-child mothers. At the same time, in accordance with the information provided by T community, this paper expounds demands of the expectant two-child mothers at the individual level, family level and social level,and analyzes their social support system from the aspects of formal. After have a whole understanding about the weakness that the expectant two-child mothers are facing, this paper will use empowerment theory and communication theory, through the social work intervention methods of group work and case work methods to help the expectant two-child mothers prompting them mutual energized. In group work intervention, this paper describes ten times group activities organized by T community in the course of forming expectant two-child mothers mutual-help community. Through group activities,it adjusts the psychological state of the target group, help them to obtain pregnancy knowledge, strengthens their consciousness of eugenic and superior nurture, eliminates the first child's resistance for the coming of the newborn, and prompts the target group family relationship harmonious. In case work intervention, this paper selects a case study object who faces many problems in the process of bearing the second child and is full of worries, through five times interview, helps the object to solve problems, establish healthy mentality, and strengthen their ability to solve problems. The social work intervention of expectant two-child mothers has achieved the desired goal, the situation that expectant two-child mothers are facing has been improved, and their self-help ability has improved. In the process of social work intervention, social workers face two major problems, one is the service object always has a wrong response, one is its own value conflict.Based on social work intervention study in the expectant two-child mothers, we should pay more attention to help the expectant two-child mothers explore and use their own ability and potential ability , make full use of social support system, and try to use other intervention In addition to group work and case work.
