China is a country of ethnic and religious diversity.Along with the continuous development of city urbanization and the improvement of education level,ethnic population is becoming an important force in the development of the city whilst they leave their homeland for the city and enter into the emerging labor market.This floating population with various customs and religious beliefs face series of adaptive problems while mingling with the mainstream culture.According to relative reports from China Academy of Social Sciences in 2009,there are about 3million floating Muslim among a national total of 30 million,including Islam Muslim.Difficulties of entering an emerging labor market these Muslim people face are more diversified with their unique ethnic and religious backgrounds.Based on existing literature review,the author found that the research on the floating Muslims are mostly referring to those working in the low-end industries,such as the hand-pulled noodle restaurant practitioners and mobile vendors etc.Researches are mainly focused on their reasons of migration,the adaptive confusions they face during their social life,economic and religious activities as well as the social environment and government policies they deal with.However,there are very few literature referring to those flowing Muslims working in companies and civil organizations.The study of those working for civil services are even scarce.This paper therefore will discuss the migrant Muslim employees of the company the author serves and the occupation adaptive problems this group face from a micro perspective.The author will base his study from the advantageous perspective and apply the theory of social ecology.Theories in the social work areasuch as the task-oriented mode,rational emotive therapy and social support network mode will be employed respectively.The intervention of different floating Muslim employees in occupation adaptation difficulties arising from the process of psychological difficulties and development dilemma will also be examined.The paper will also probe the necessity and feasibility of social work methods in this Muslim population.
