| In recent years, with the intensification of population aging, the problems and difficulties faced by elderly people who have lost their children have become increasingly prominent. They not only face the pain of losing their children, but also face a series of difficulties such as economic poverty, physical illness, lack of family care, difficulty in staying in elderly care institutions, psychological and mental disorders. As a vulnerable group, the elderly who have lost independence need to receive widespread attention from society. The elderly who have lost their independence refer to those over 60 years old whose children have died due to car accidents, work, illness, suicide, disasters, crimes, etc. They are unable or unwilling to have children or adopt children due to age or other reasons. This article takes urban elderly people who have lost their independence as the research object, starting from the psychological level of urban elderly people who have lost their independence, and combining professional social work methods to conduct research.Firstly, through questionnaire surveys and case interviews,we aim to understand the mental health status of service recipients and analyze the reasons for their mental sub health.Secondly,by using a rational emotional therapy model,we first identify the current problems faced by the service object and the emotional disorders caused by the problems, and then help them understand the important role of beliefs. It is not the problem that leads to negative emotions, but the misconception of the problem that leads to negative emotions.Secondly, social workers and service recipients work together to identify unreasonable beliefs, refute the irrational, unscientific, and irrational aspects of cognition, and rationalize unreasonable beliefs. Finally, through consolidation and re education, the rational belief is kept in a stable state.During this process, professional work methods and techniques of social work were combined to provide psychological counseling for urban elderly people with different needs and problems, using individual case social work methods and group social work methods, achieving certain results. Moreover, through SPSS statistical analysis of the before and after test data of service objects,it is found that the differences between the three dimensions of emotion, cognition and behavior of service objects are very significant, which proves that the use of rational emotion therapy to intervene in the elderly without independence in urban areas is effective and can promote the mental health of the elderly without independence in urban areas. Finally, this article reflects on the theoretical and practical aspects of using rational emotional therapy to promote the mental health of urban elderly people who have lost their independence.Based on pointing out the shortcomings of this study,it proposes a suggestion to build a "Five Social Linkages" platform for multiple entities to jointly assist in the mental health of urban elderly people who have lost their independence. |
