Language Environment And Teaching Environment Of Chinese Teaching Based On Uygur-Chinese Bilingual Education

As an important part of Xinjiang bilingual education,Chinese teaching for ethnic minorities not only has much to do with personal growth and affects the cultivation of bilingual talents,but also relates to the stability of a society and national unity.Chinese teaching in primary schools is expected to develop students' ability of listening,speaking,reading and writing as well as to enhance inheritance of the traditional Chinese culture.The case study in this paper,with the help of questionnaires and interviews,will explore the language environment and teaching environment of Chinese teaching based on Uygur-Chinese bilingual education in Yining City.The following problems have been found.In terms of language environment,although school and family create a relatively good language environment for minority students to study Chinese,students' abilities in Chinese are still in a state of imbalance: listening> speaking> reading> writing;Chinese teachers' methods of constructing language environment are simple.As for the teaching environment,Chinese teachers' teaching ability and teaching methods are yet to be improved;teachers training model is too simple;the evaluation system still depends on summative assessment,the process assessment being ignored.We propose to improve the language environment by optimizing classroom language environment and extracurricular language environment.Specifically the teaching environment should be optimized in three ways: 1)changing traditional teaching methods to multi-teaching methods;2)promoting the quality of teacher training and increasing training efforts on proficiency of Chinese teachers;3)attaching importance to the combination of summative assessment and process assessment,constructing a positive Chinese evaluation system.
