A Study On The Relationship Between The Neglection And Mental Health Of Left Behind Children In Rural Areas Of Xiangxi

Background: Child neglect as the four types of child injury(physical abuse,emotional abuse,sexual abuse and neglect),which has become the highest and most wide effect in child.Neglect in early life is likely to damage the normal growth.If severe case,it may lead to death.Persistent neglect will bring great impact on children's physical,cognitive and social reactions.All these far-reaching consequences is irreversible.Immature stage of children who encounter left behind and ignorant situation.They can't gain love and spiritual supportong from their parents long time which forming a huge contrast.So that they have heart anxiety,panic,loneliness and longing which a series of thing like escape school,cmmit suicide and crime.Epecially the situation of left-behind children in minority areas is more serious.Objective: The study begins with the logical of the neglect state in Xiangxi left-behind children,and analyzing neglect rate and neglect degreen from different gender,nationality,period of rural left-behind children.Meanwhile,understanding the mental health status of left behind children in rural areas of Xiangxi and exploring the relationship between the rural left-behind children neglect and their mental health so as to promote the development of children-left's healthy in rural areas.And provide reference for literature and the local education department or the relevant scholars.Methods: This study mainly uses the research methods like literature,questionnaire,expert interviews and mathematical statistics,random sample method.Result:(1)In addition to medical neglect,the left-behind children in rural areas of Tujia and Miao has obvious distinctions among other five neglected dimensions.It hasn't statistical significance between male and female student neglect state,but male and female students in emotional neglect,education level neglect have obvious distinction significants;Junior high school students neglect situation has statistical significance,and in other six neglected dimensions have obvious distinction.(2)The main risk factor of physical neglect is independent room(OR=2.036,P=0.000),the main protective factor is accommodation(OR=0.631,P=0.007);The main risk factor of emotional neglect is the relationship with his father(OR=4.273,P=0.000,P=0.002,good OR=3.062);The main risk factor of education ignored is the relationship with his mother(OR=2.769,P=0.005),the protective factor is junior high school students(OR=0.470,P=0.000);The main neglect of security risk factor is the independent room(OR=1.412,P=0.022),the main protective factor is junior high school students(OR=0.484,P=0.000);The main risk factor of medical neglect is the relationship between the parents(OR=2.434,P=0.005),the main protective factor is the only child(OR=0.405,P=0.003);The main protective factor neglected by the society is the parents income below 1000 yuan(OR=0.565,P=0.034).The main risk factor of total neglect is the independent room(OR=1.720,P=0.001),the main protective factor is junior high school students(OR=0.484,P =0.000),monthly family income below 1000 yuan(OR=0.565,P=0.034).(3)The left-behind children in rural areas of Xiangxi province only have gender differences in mental health,and there are no significant differences in the mental health of the left behind children in the junior high school,Tujia and Miao Nationality in the rural areas of Xiangxi.(4)There was a significant positive correlation between the level of neglect,neglect degreen and mental health of the left behind children in Xiangxi rural areas.The left-behind children have the gender differences in the cognitive dimension of mental under physical neglect;there are ethnic differences in thought,emotion and will dimension;their thought and emotional dimensions exist the class differences.Under the emotional neglect,left-behind children in mental and emotional personality dimensions exist the class differences.Under the safety ignore,left-behind children in the cognitive dimension of mental exist gender differencest,and cognitive,ideological dimensions are class differences.Under the medical neglect,left-behind children in mental thought,emotional dimensions exist class differrences.Under the emotion,education,health care,social security neglect,left-behind children in the dimensions of mental exist ethnic differences.Conclusion and suggestion: Xiangxi Tujia and Miao boys are susceptible to emotional neglect,physical neglect;girls vulnerable to body neglect,education neglect,social neglect;high school students vulnerable to safety neglect,education neglect,medical neglect,social neglect,poor learning,independent room,the study and gender become a risk neglect factor.There was a significant positive correlation between the neglect rate and the neglect degree among the left behind children in Xiangxi rural areas.The government,social management function should give full support to strengthen the family intervention on left-behind children in rural areas,and guide the rural left-behind children change their ideas actively,give reasonable mental health guidance,strengthen physical exercise etc.
